Retention is a most important part of your orthodontic treatment. The orthodontic research literature informs us that successful retention requires a lifetime commitment.
When your braces are removed, fixed retainers will be placed behind your top and bottom front teeth. In addition, slip cover retainers will be made for your top and bottom teeth. These are worn only at night for two full years and then are worn 3-4 nights a week for 4-6 hours at a time for as long as you can.
Your commitment to the retention process will keep your beautiful new smile stable for a lifetime. If you lose or break one of your retainers, be sure to call our office immediately to schedule an appointment for a replacement to be made.
